Extra Services
Unfortunately the Churnet Valley Railway has been without a steam locomotive for the last few weeks following the need to withdraw 44422 from service for repairs. Without a second "standby" steam loco, normal practice is to utilise Class 37 37075 to cover.
However with a booked "Driver Experience" day with the 4-Vep electric unit already in place for 37075, a second diesel was required to run the passenger service that day, resulting in M50455 & M50517 being put in service on Saturday 13th June. Hopefully passengers remained comfortable in our 2-car set as opposed to the usual rake of 4 or 5 coaches that are there to accommodate them!
Many thanks to Dave Gibson (CVR Photographer) for providing the images of the unit in action over the day.
