Telford Steam Railway 104s
After the initial 12 class 104 vehicles were preserved, DMBS 50479, DMCL 50531 & unique TBSL 59228 were moved to Oswestry. 50479/50531 were spares vehicles for the other 10, but were subsequently returned to service. A move saw them transferred to the Telford Steam Railway where they were joined by DMCL 53556. This vehicle, along with 59228 are Eastern Region vehicles (all the others being London Midland Region) and are the only 104s fitted with Formica to be saved. While the Easterns remain in "as withdrawn" condition (in BR Blue), the twin set has been tidied up recently (Autumn 2008) and carries BR Green with speed whiskers.
50479, 50531, 53556 & 59228 don't have a group website, but you can find out more about the Telford Steam Railway by clicking on the logo below
