The BRCW Group are a group of volunteers responsible for the preservation, restoration and operation of thirteen 1950's Class 104 Diesel Railcars, spread across four heritage railways in the UK.
We have been successful in returning four vehicles to regular passenger service
with restoration of a fifth currently in progress.
This website provides the latest news of these Railcars, background information and an online resource for the history of the Class 104.

The BRCW Group control 13 Class 104 vehicles formed into six sets. Each has its own home, restoration story and history, all of which are chronicled in this section.
Our main activity is the restoration of these historic vehicles from scrap to operational condition. See how we have achieved this and find out how you could get involved. Volunteers are always required!
One of the most popular sections of our website is the Mainline Gallery. An impressive historical collection totaling over 1,400 images of Class 104 railcars during their working lives for British Rail, 1957-1993.
