An original formation 4-car set at Garforth with a Hull service (53A Models of Hull Collection)

A strange formation at Beverley, on the 17.20 Leeds to Bridlington. The 104 DMCL appears to be leading a Class 101 composite vehicle in a 2-car set with no brakevan, with a further 2-car set behind that presumably includes a brake! Alternatively this may be a 4-car set with one of the centre cars including an erroneous cab (Keith Holt)

A 3-car set arriving into Romford. This photo shows the common practice of leaving a tail lamp on both ends of the set (regardless of direction of travel) which would shuttle many times along the relatively short branch (John Law)
1977

A 3-car set passing floods & rain at Ratcliffe-on-Soar (David Ford)

On the climb from Cullercoats to Tynemouth. The open land on the right is called "Beaconsfield"(Simon Hadden)

Winter 1979 and the North Tyne BR services now terminate in the south bay platforms at Tynemouth. The through platforms are out of use, as is the route towards Cullercoats, for Metro conversion. The rusting line on the left beyond the crossover leads to the northbound through platform. The 104 makes a smoky exit from Tynemouth station, heading back towards Newcastle via North Shields (Simon Hadden)

Late Summer. A 4-car climbing from Monkseaton to West Monkseaton, the temporary terminus for BR services. It's running on the "wrong line", as single line operation was in use between Monkseaton and West Monkseaton (Simon Hadden)
