Welcome to the Birmingham Railcar Workgroup Website

We are a group of volunteers based on the Churnet Valley Railway (in Staffordshire) aiming to fully restore and maintain six 1950's Class 104 Diesel Railcars.

We have been successful in returning two vehicles to regular passenger service with restoration of a third currently in progress, which we aim to complete in 2013.

This website provides the latest news of our Railcars, background information, and includes an online resource for Class 104 Diesel Multiple Units in general.
